Amb. Alie Kabba… A National Leader Among Worshippers

The popularity of Ambassador Alie Kabba continues to soar beyond regions and the walls of religious houses.

Despite his busy political schedule and engagements, Ambassador Kabba continues to honour invitations from spiritual leaders and imams across the country by joining them in Friday prayers.

His gracing of last week Jummah prayers at the Moyamba central mosque, highlights his growing political momentum in the country.

His presence attracted worshippers beyond the district many of whom described the moment as a clear sign of his enduring connection with ordinary people at the grassroots.

He was appreciated by the imams for his dedication and commitment in the political trajectory of Sierra Leone as they prayed for God to grant him his political wishes.

The congregation echoed the prayers, creating a solemn and unified atmosphere rooted in faith and mutual respect.

For many present, Kabba’s visit carried meaning beyond the religious occasion. By standing shoulder to shoulder with local worshippers, he conveyed humility and solidarity, reinforcing the view that leadership is strongest when it is grounded in shared values and everyday community life. Residents said the gesture reflected respect for faith and fellowship as essential pillars of social harmony and national unity.

Observers noted that such engagements continue to shape Ambassador Kabba’s public image as a leader who remains accessible despite his high level responsibilities. His willingness to engage directly with communities, listen to their concerns, and participate in moments that matter to them has helped sustain his reputation as a people centered public figure.

Politically, Alie Kabba is a long standing member of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) with a career that bridges national governance and international diplomacy. He has served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and later as Sierra Leone’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, where he represented the country on key global platforms. Ahead of the 2028 elections, Kabba publicly expressed interest in the SLPP flagbearer race, and his name has continued to feature in internal party discussions about future leadership. Although SLPP rules currently restrict open campaigning for the flagbearer position, his sustained grassroots presence across the country is widely viewed by supporters as part of a long term political journey aimed at building trust, unity, and national appeal.

As he departed Moyamba, many residents said the visit would be remembered not just for the prayers offered, but for what it symbolized: a leader choosing to remain close to the people, attentive to faith, and mindful of the shared values that bind communities together.
