Boosting The SLPP Secretariat… Chief Minister Pledges Big Support
The Chief Minister of Sierra Leone, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh who is also the Chairman, SLPP’s NEC Constitution Review Committee, has expressed interest to support the secretariat of the Sierra Leone People’s Party.
In a letter written to the National Chairman of the party Jimmy Batilo Songa dated 21st February 2026, Dr. Sengeh said that during his recent engagements with all the District Secretaries of the party, several issues regarding the interest of the party were discussed.
Referencing some of his fulfilled commitments to the party’s secretariat, Dr. Sengeh promised to donate one laptop computer to each of the 25 district and Regional Secretariats including the National Secretary General to support their work, noting that the secretariats cannot afford to work from public internet cafes on the party’s administration.
He promised to pay 50% tuition for all Constituency, District, and Regional Secretaries pursuing post graduate studies and 100% scholarship for all undergraduate students
“My goal is to support your administration because I believe in your vision. I believe that this is something our Leader President Julius Maada Bio will appreciate. And I do this in service to our people. I kindly urge you to furnish me with a full list of those Secretaries who are currently directly registered in our institutions. As someone who believes in our ethos of social democracy and our Leader’s focus on human capital development, I am making a pledge for your attention and notice of the party. In addition to some commitments, I made to the delegation”, he said.
Stalwarts within the party commended the donation by Chief Minister, describing the gesture as timely and a boost to the work of the secretariats.
