Citizens Hail James Bio’s Appointment As SLRSA ED

The appointment of James Baggio Bio as the Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority by His Excellency, President Julius Maada Bio, is a laudable venture in promoting road safety in Sierra Leone.

Having served as Deputy Executive Director during Ibrahim Sannoh and Reverend Smart Senessie’s tenure, James Bio is a household name when it comes to serving the SLRSA.

With vast years of experience in the sector, James Bio has the capacity and knowledge to improve and implement best practices in the road safety sector.

This was expressed by several stakeholders in the road safety sector.

Commenting on his appointment, the former Board Chairman of SLRSA, Sheik Bawoh described it as the right thing at the right time.

“This is the best appointment His Excellency President Bio has done for SLRSA. Bringing any new appointee to the Authority would have resulted in lots of challenges. James Bio has acquired the experience, the energy,and the willing staff to work with him. We now expect SLRSA to be on the right footing when it comes to the transformation and promotion of Road Safety in Sierra Leone,” he said.

A former senior employee of the authority, also hailed the appointment.

“James Bio has been within the corridors at SLRSA long before SLPP assumes power and I believe he understands the inside and outside; problems and solutions of the Authority, its staff and stakeholders

official. He now has the authority to improve on Communications and Outreach since the Road Safety campaign is all about Behavioral Change Communication,” he said.

James Bio is known as a grassroot unifier among the youthful population in the country.

James Panda Noah, was the first Executive Director to be appointed by President Bio after the 2018 election. He was later succeeded by his then Deputy Ibrahim Sannoh, Sannoh was later succeeded by Reverend Smart Senessie whose Deputy happens to be James Bio.
