To Help Drive Sustainable Development Across Africa Dr. Alie Kabba Heads African Policy Think Tank
Experienced Sierra Leone Politician and Diplomat Ambassador Alie Kabba has been appointed to head the newly established Center for Africa Policy Solutions (CAPS) to help foster sustainable development and socio-economic growth across Africa.
A notice announcing the establishment of CAPS states that the Center aims to provide evidenced based policy solutions to drive transformative change and and active stakeholder engagement across Africa.

The Center aims to provide evidence-based policy solutions to drive transformative change by promoting and shaping public policy through rigorous research, strategic partnerships, and active stakeholder engagement as well as grassroots participation.

“The scope of the Center’s work includes, but not limited to economic growth and development, democracy and human rights, natural resource governance, energy and climate change, migration and social mobility, and youth and employment.”
“The Center employs the combination of glocalized strategies with multidisciplinary approach in exploring bespoke solutions to boosting economic growth, creating jobs, and eradicating poverty; enhance transparency, accountability, and democratic practices across the continent; address health disparities and improve access to quality healthcare services; ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities; and develop policies to combat climate change and protect Africa’s natural resources.”
“In its inaugural year, CAPS will focus on policy research by publishing comprehensive evidence-based policy papers, studies, and reports – commissioned and non-commissioned – on critical issues such as economic reforms, democratic consolidation, global issues and trends, health systems strengthening, and educational innovation; stakeholder engagement by hosting forums, conferences, and workshops to engage policymakers, civil society, and the private sector in collaborative discussions; and capacity building through providing training and support to African leaders and institutions to enhance policy implementation and governance practices.”
