Palestine Ambassador To Turkiye Hosts KATIP Participants
The Palestinian Ambassador to Turkiye His Excellency Dr. Nasri Abu Jaish, yesterday hosted KATIP fellows at the Palestinian embassy in Ankara.
Presenting the delegation, KATIP Coordinator Mr. Volkan Ozkan, extended warm greetings on behalf of the government and people of Turkiye especially YTB to the Ambassador and people of Palestine.
He underscores the importance of the KATIP programme which seeks to showcase Turkish culture, diplomacy and language to the world through scholars and diplomats from different nations.
Giving a historic background about Palestine, Ambassador Jaish said that, Palestine was once a part of the Ottoman empire, adding that Turkiye continues to strengthen its bilateral relations, trade and humanitarian support to the people of Palestine.
He thanked YTB for the successful enrollment of one Palestinian 1st Lt. Arenal Sayes in this year’s fellowship, which he said demonstrates Turkiye’s commitment towards giving equal opportunity to every nation.
“Today, the world is seeing what Palestinians are going through. We thank every nation for recognising our nation’s sovereignty and giving us the hope that we are not alone in this struggle to free Palestine. From Africa to Europe and Asia, we remain committed to strengthening our international cooperations”, he said.
Ambassador Jaish said that, Palestine has a Muslim majority seconded by Persians and Jews. But they all stand together to fight the Israel occupation.
